thanks for not filling out your ballots highsec :toot:
It would seem that not many hi-sec folk cared enough to vote.
It seems that not many null-sec folk cared enough to vote either.
If this is the null-sec cartels taking over the game, I think we can all rest easy.

Jeez folks, the number of total votes cast is appallingly low even if one assumes a total player base as low as 300,000.
Hell, I used all my votes on my two characters, so even though I cannot really remember how I cast most of them, sorry candidates but most of you are pretty much instantly forgettable, I must have had an enormous impact on the composition of CSM 9.

Dinsdale Pirannha wrote:Mandatory suffrage. It is pretty simple.
Huge screens on logon in the last week that the voting is open, and you can't play until you vote. Naturally, everyone will jump on this as a terrible idea, as people will vote for the first name on the ballot.
Too bad.
It is better than the mess we have now.
So long as the mandatory voting screen provided an option such as, none of the idiots listed above, it might work This is not a signature. |

Mike Azariah wrote:I suggested that people take a % hit to their skill training time if they DIDN'T vote since psych studies show that you are more likely to respond to loss than bribes.
I have trouble understanding the people who didn't have the time to vote but do have the time to tell me that on the forums. And with the new voting procedure once you voted with one account said vote choices were saved for each successive account.
None of the Above is a good idea, he is a nice guy. Yes, there is a character called None of the Above
CCP Leeloo did ask a serious question . . . in case you missed it
If you didn't vote because you were not contacted HOW would you prefer said contact to come? EveMail spam? Popups in game while you are in the midst of a cambat? Bigger login messaging? Inability to login until you vote?
You are reading this on the forums but where do you think we can reach the MOST people. Get the message out with the highest efficiency and the lowest 'pissoff' rate?
m
You may be making a mistake is assuming that folk did not vote because they were not, in effect, contacted by CCP.
The hard brutal truth is that the vast majority of players just do not care enough to vote.
30 odd thousand votes out of a possible 300 thousand or so is a disaster for CCP and the CSM in terms of credibility.
The problem is not the messenger or how the message is delivered but the message.
The CSM is a great idea that almost no one cares about.

Malcanis, you post - number 250 - amounts to, but I am a special snowflake and I want my bit fixed now or I will not log in and play.
There are a lot of things CCP need and want to do, the order they do them in has to be determined by them.

How on earth you got that from my post I truly have no idea. How do you derive "special snowflake" from a tl;dr of 'I guess we have to suck it up and wait yet another year or two?'?
...I'm thinking of the state of nullsec here: the metagame has evolved to the point where the logical way to play is mostly to not log in. Most of nullsec spends the majority of its play time playing other games; for the few things we need to do, an op will be announced, a ping will go out...
I hope this quote from your post makes my point for me. This is not a signature. |

Malcanis, what you have posted amounts to - fix what I want fixed now (null-sec) or I will not log in - this makes you someone who wants special treatment - aka special snowflake.
This is not to deny that null-sec needs to be fixed as do many areas of the game, ship balancing and the industry revamp, whilst not glamorous in themselves are much needed improvements to the game.
Null-sec will get the attention it deserves when CCP move it to the top of their 'must do pile' This is not a signature. |

Dear Malcanis,
My comment that you are acting like a special snowflake has nothing to do with the issues null-sec has, but because as you have now stated several times, you and others do not - will not really log in until the issues of null-sec are fixed 'and we want it done NOW, because we are special snowflakes.
You are beginning to act like like a Tippia alt, posting for the sake of posting, and, as I have said before, the best thing to do with Tippia is to let him have the last word as soon as possible, so I grant you the last word on this.
Take care. This is not a signature. |

I have always taken it for granted that the CSM keep an eye on the forums, that they do not always respond does not concern me at all as I sincerely believe that most - all of the CSM take their responsibilities seriously.
Although I would like more folk to vote, it shows that folk want to be engaged and it is good publicity for CCP, we will still get an elected CSM every year.
Of course large organised voting blocs like the goons will get 'their man' onto the CSM every time, it really does not matter as the bloc rep will set aside partisan politics for the greater good and, even if say a goon CSM was foolish enough to only push a goon agenda, CCP would soon park said rep to one side and ignore them.
